Sometimes, all I want is this! Comfort in the form of food. A soul satisfying homemade breakfast of Whole wheat Parathas with Aaloo ka bhujiya (stir fried potatoes). A little achaar & some yoghurt on the side. When people say, find the small joys in life, THIS is what it means to me. A simple, home cooked meal which takes me back to my childhood home. What’s that one comforting breakfast for you which takes you back to your childhood?Homemade chocolate truffles —The best kinda snack!:-) A win-win for kids and adults alike. And a perfect way to feed my chocoholic toddler some good stuff without overloading on sugar! There are a few people I need to thank for inspiring me to make these. At different points in time, my friends @eventsanddesignsbysheetal @real_richa @socialique have made their versions. I finally got inspired and made it with whatever I had available in my pantry. There is no real recipe.. just go with what feels right to you. Ingredients: Walnuts - 1 cup Pumpkin seeds (unsalted) - about 1/2 cup Cashewnuts - a handful Brazil nuts (a handful) Raw unsweetened Cacao powder - 1-2 tbsp.. I didn’t measure so please adjust according to your liking. Dates - I only had about 6 pcs Dry unsweetened Coconut flakes - around 1/2 cup Coconut sugar - 2-3 Tbsp Pulse everything in a food processor until it comes together like a sticky messy dough. Take them out and roll them into balls and there you have it!Do you like smoothies ? I didn’t, until a couple of months ago. Then I had the most amazing smoothie made by my friend @socialique and I’ve never looked back since! I started experimenting with various flavour combinations. Here’s how I made this one: 1/2 cup Greek Yoghurt 1/2 cup Soy milk (optional) 1 banana 1/2 cup frozen berries 1/3 cup frozen mango 1 heaped tbsp of vanilla protein powder Blend until smooth. Do you have a favourite smoothie recipe that you swear by? I’d love to try:-)It’s one of those days where I have pushed myself to the point where I am beyond exhausted! I am happy that I managed to put together a decent / nutritious meal for the kids. I am proud that I made 2 promises to my kids & kept them both! The younger one didn’t want to nap in school and wanted to be picked up early...And the older one wanted me to play a couple of rounds of his new found favourite game. Despite everything, I managed to do both 🙂On the other hand, the house is a mess. There are dirty dishes waiting in the sink. Added a tomato and a little ketchup to make it more saucy. Dinner was a Breeze thanks to the pasta! ** Broccoli 🥦 and carrot 🥕 soup .. slow cooked. With a dash of milk & lots of black pepper. I added some cheese for the kids but I think it tasted better without the cheese! ** I made a aglio olio brown rice pasta for myself. Very basic - lots of garlic, onions, red pepper flakes in olive oil.
